Assyrian National Convention is Postponed Until 2021...
Read below Message from Assyrian American National Federation President Martin Youmaran!
Dear Convention Attendees,
I’d like to take this opportunity and thank all of you who took the time to answer the survey that we sent out to you recently. We were thrilled that a vast majority of our attendees were eagerly interested in coming to convention this year. This speaks volumes – it means the interest remains strong and the opportunity to gather our people together for an annual celebration is deeply valued. I am humbled by the support and truly value your input.
It is with deep regret that I inform you of the decision made to postpone the 87th annual AANF national convention for the first time ever. This pandemic has truly shaken up our lives and the national convention is one of thousands of events being impacted.
While we worked out any possible way to bring our Assyrian people together this Labor Day weekend, we found it more and more difficult to work through the logistics when we’d still be putting the health and safety of our people at risk. Please know that this pause is certainly going to help us deliver a better, more efficient experience for our attendees. It will allow us the opportunity to implement an enhanced registration system, self-check-in capabilities, and provide us ample time to ramp up our efforts of scouting a location based on your feedback from the survey.
Through social media and electronic platforms, we will continue to give you step-by-step updates as we work through our preparations for next year’s convention. Thank you again for your continued support.
Stay safe and see you next year!
Best,
Martin W. Youmaran
