AACO Book Club - We're beginning our new book! The Crimson Field by Rosie Malek-Younan is a story about a young woman as she lives through the Simele massacre. You might think that a book about a massacre is too gloomy, but this true story will take you through many emotions. You will laugh and smile as well as cry and be filled with anger, but that's what makes a good book! August 7th is the day that this book remembers. Together we ought to honor the character of our ancestors; their strong faith, their resilience, their bravery, and their ability to love one another in the midst of adversity.

On Wednesday, August 16th at 6 PM at a home in Peoria we will have our first of multiplemeetings to discuss the book. In our first meeting we ask that readers get through the first 100 pages or as far as you can up till there.

Non-Readers are also welcome to attend. We encourage everyone to come, even if you don't plan on reading the book. The purpose of the book club is not to just read books, but have meaningful discussions and learn how we as individuals and as a group can improve how we live as Assyrians today. This is something you can participate or listen in on regardless if you have read the book or not.

You can find the book on Amazon by searching "Rosie Malek-Yonan's The Crimson Field" available for purchase, new and used. Stock is limited and shipping times are long so do not delay.
